Happy Hour with the Historian – Florida Springs: Geography, Politics, and Restoration

August 14, 2025 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Thanks to an underground layer of porous limestone, Florida has a large concentration of freshwater springs. An important source of drinking water for millions of Floridians, they are also key to tourism and recreation.

Join us Thursday, August 14 for Happy Hour with the Historian, featuring Dr. Chris F. Meindl as he presents Florida Springs and the Struggle for Truth. Dr. Meindl will discuss the science, history, and politics of Florida’s springs, as featured in his book Florida Springs: From Geography to Politics and Restoration.

Don’t miss this journey through Florida’s springs!
