DESCRIPTION:Join us Thursday\, March 9 as Southern Roots Realty and the Museum of History present Happy Hour with the Historian featuring Francis Gary Powers\, Jr. and the story of America’s most famous spy pilot\, his father\, Francis Gary Powers\, Sr.! \nThe conversation will center around incident in 1960 when Power’s U-2 spy plane was shot down over the Soviet Union\, triggering an international incident during the height of the Cold War. \nGary Powers\, Jr. is the Founder and Chairman Emeritus of The Cold War Museum outside of Washington\, D.C.\, which he founded honor Cold War veterans and preserve Cold War history. Gary consulted for the Steven Spielberg Cold War thriller Bridge of Spies\, as well as lectures internationally and appears regularly on C-SPAN\, the History Channel\, Discovery and A&E. \nPresented by Southern Roots Realty\, Happy Hour with the Historian is frequently sold out\, so reservations are required.
