
The St. Petersburg Arts Archive(SPArtA)
This initiative by the St. Petersburg Museum of History, and the City of St. Petersburg is dedicated to documenting, preserving, and sharing the city’s artistic heritage. The archive acknowledges the artist who have shaped the cultural landscape and honors their impact on today’s thriving art community. Through cultivating a collection and rotating exhibitions, this archive will ensure the legacy of the arts in St. Petersburg is preserved and celebrated.
Both digital and physical archives will be collected. Physical collections will prioritize 20 th -century, while digital acquisitions will focus on contemporary artists, with a limited number of artworks accessioned.

- Letters and correspondence
- Exhibition announcements and catalogs
- Photographs of artwork, individuals, and programs
- Studies and sketchbooks
- Artwork ( with quantity and size limitations, based on the artist’s relevance, determined by the
review committee)

To apply, prepare your materials—including artist information, artwork details, high-quality images or digital files, and any additional documentation—then complete the online application form below. Once submitted, applications are reviewed by the archive committee on a rolling basis, and selected artists will be contacted regarding next steps.
