The Museum’s tours offer an exceptional Florida History learning experience for elementary, middle and high school students.
City Builders
Using the Museum’s resources, campers aged 10 - 13 will learn about the history of St. Petersburg's architecture, preservation, and government to determine what it takes to make a great city. Topics such as transportation, sports, tourism and recreation will be covered. By the end of the week, they will have taken field trips, gone on scavenger hunts, and created their own vision of a city using cardboard boxes and a giant map of St. Pete.
Field Trips

All tours give time for independent exploration, address Florida state curriculum standards, and include lesson plan materials for the classroom.
Field Trips may begin as early as 8AM for High School students.
Florida History Lesson Plans
Bring the Museum into the classroom! This program, catered to elementary, middle and high school ages, helps teachers capture and share the history of Florida.
Each lesson plan includes: Teacher discussion notes, powerpoints and DBQs. Subject matter includes:
- Spanish Colonial Florida
- Native American Florida
- Florida's Role in the Civil War
- Florida's Role in the Spanish American War
- The Roaring 20s & Jazz Age Florida
- Florida's Role in World War II
- Florida and the Cold War
- Civil Rights in Florida
