Happy Hour with the Historian: Featuring Paul Wilborn’s Florida Hustle- A Wild Road Trip of 1980’s Florida
The St. Petersburg Museum of History and Southern Roots Realty invites you to join us on August 10 for Happy Hour with the Historian!
Celebrated author and historian Paul Wilborn will discuss his new novel, Florida Hustle, a colorful and often hilarious snapshot of Florida in the 1980s. Named one of the 100 Best Indie Books of 2022 by Kirkus Reviews, Florida Hustle is set in 1982 when America was led by a celebrity president, and the Sunshine State was morphing from a low-rent vacationland into a mega-state famous for theme parks and Seminole Indian casinos. This tale is pure Florida and is expertly told by award-winning journalist, author, pianist, and singer Paul Wilborn. Wilborn’s Cigar City: Tales From a 1980s Creative Ghetto won the Gold Medal for Fiction in the 2019 Florida Books Award. Wilborn is the executive director of the Palladium Theater at St. Petersburg College.
