Happy Hour with the Historian: Mark Muncy – Eerie Florida
The St. Petersburg Museum of History and Southern Roots Realty invites you to our monthly lecture series, Happy Hour with the Historian featuring Mark Muncy.
The Sunshine State is known for its miles of sandy white beaches, warm sun, and world-famous attractions, but Florida is also home to hidden mysteries, eerie legends, unexplained phenomena, and of course bizarre hauntings!
Author Mark Muncy has crisscrossed Florida from Key West to the Emerald Coast, hunting down stories of ghosts, reports of paranormal activity, and, well, anything eerie. His presentation will take you through haunted graveyards, museums, parks, and battlefields. You’ll hear macabre stories of spectral pirates, gangsters, witches, madmen, and tales of bizarre creatures.
Muncy is the creator of Hellview Cemetery, a charity haunted house in central Florida that was so infamous it was banned by the City of St. Petersburg. An author of horror and science fiction, he has spent over three decades collecting ghostly tales and reports of legendary beasts. He lives in St. Petersburg on the remains of an ancient midden.
