The St. Petersburg Museum of History and 10 Tampa Bay News invite you to join us on Thursday, February 26th, for a special viewing and panel discussion of Take Me To The Water – Florida’s Fight to Desegregate Pools and Beaches.

10 Tampa Bay News will debut the 22-minute film by Emerald Morrow and Mandy Cordero. The report details the struggle for Florida’s African American population to enjoy what Florida is famous for – sand, surf, and sun.The film is followed by a panel discussion on our local wade-ins and features Betty Harden (St. Pete 1958 wade-in), Jetson Grimes (Sarasota wade-in) and Gwendolyn Reese (President of the African American Heritage Trail).

Parking is available in the Pier lot adjacent to the Museum. Additional parking is available in the Sundial Parking Garage and on Bayshore and Beach Drives. Fees apply.
