Gaspar! The Musical
January 4-7, 2024
Gaspar! The Musical is a swashbuckling, new musical comedy that captures the spirit of wild fun and merriment found in Tampa Bay’s annual Gasparilla celebration.
The St. Petersburg Museum of History, The Palladium and 21st Century Playhouse, LLC are joining forces to bring this brand new home-grown musical to the stage.
With music by Constantine Grame and book and lyrics by Bill Leavengood, Gaspar! is a fast- paced, bawdy tale of “trading places” that finds the legendary pirate, Jose Gaspar, magically transported through Ame to modern day Tampa Bay, while his identical counterpart, Joe Wright, a Florida politician running for governor, finds himself captaining the pirate ship, Floriblanca, in 1723.
